BURBANK, Los Angeles County — Burbank residents and businesses have an opportunity to review major proposed land-use changes for the Media District as the City Council prepares for a public hearing scheduled for November 10, 2026.
The city’s October 29 public-hearing notice lists consideration of certification of a Final Environmental Impact Report for the updated Media District Specific Plan. The associated proposals include changes to the Burbank2035 General Plan and an ordinance amending zoning rules to implement the new specific plan. These are proposed actions; publication of a hearing notice is not final approval.
What residents should examine
The city makes the staff report, environmental-review resolutions, Planning Commission materials and correspondence available alongside its notice. Residents can examine the preferred sustainable-infrastructure alternative and consider how the proposal could affect local development, traffic, services and land-use rules.
The city’s agenda forecast also lists a separate discussion about a possible ban on AI-generated art in city materials, but forecast entries are subject to change. Anyone planning to comment should check the final posted agenda and the city’s meeting participation instructions rather than rely solely on the forecast.
