BURBANK, Los Angeles County — Visitors to Downtown Burbank may encounter temporary walkway detours and construction fencing as the city continues work on the Palm Paseo Beautification Project.
According to the city’s September 4 announcement, the project began September 9 and aims to improve the pedestrian experience along Palm Paseo and near the Orange Grove parking structure. Planned changes include new trees, landscaping, seating, shade, enhanced lighting, bicycle racks, public art and improvements to the adjacent alley.
What businesses and visitors should know
The city says neighboring businesses are to remain open and accessible. Construction activities were planned for weekdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. to reduce conflicts with lunch service and weekend visits, although actual detours should be checked on site.
The construction schedule includes a mid-November 2026 holiday pause, with work expected to resume in mid-January 2027 and completion anticipated in summer 2027. These are the city’s projected dates, not confirmed final milestones.
For further information, Burbank directs questions to its Economic Development Division at 818-238-5180. Downtown visitors should follow posted pedestrian routing and support businesses that remain accessible during the improvements.
